Sustainable business is not done only respecting the environment. But also by recognizing who we live with – and with small gestures. That’s why I decided to share an experience that I had this weekend. I truly believe that this small experience can make some change in the world that we live in.

The most amazing thing happened! I was leaving the movie theatre with Alex, my husband, and went to catch the bus. It was a final stop, so when we’ve got to the bus stop, the driver was leaving the bus. He asked if that was the bus that we wanted, so we said yes – and he said we could get in. There was a girl inside the bus already. He closed the bus door behind us, and said he was going to buy something to drink.

After a few minutes, more passengers started arriving, but they could not get in, since the door was closed. Finally the driver came in. He allowed the passengers to come in the bus, while he was carried 4 cups of hot chocolate.

He put one hot chocolate next the driver seat, and came in our direction with the 3 remaining hot chocolates. He gave one to Alex and me, and the other one to the girl that was “locked” inside the bus with us.

I could not believe his gesture. And he said “I locked you in, it seemed to be the right thing to do”. It is such a simple gesture, but so significant. It is really beautiful what happened. Mark’s gesture was really unique. His name is Mark. And I will never forget what Mark did. For me, it means that there is still some hope. May the world have many Marks out there. That’s my wish.

 

Pequenos Gestos fazem a Diferença

Negócios sustentáveis não são feitos apenas respeitando o meio ambiente, mas também reconhecendo as pessoas a nossa volta. E com pequenos gestos. É por isso que eu resolve dividir essa experiência que eu tive nesse final de semana. Eu realmente acredito que essas pequenas experiências podem provocar algumas mudanças positivas no mundo em que vivemos.

A coisa mais maravilhosa aconteceu! Eu estava saindo do cinema com o Alex, meu marido, e fomos pegar o ônibus para ir para casa. Era o ponto final, então quando chegamos ao ônibus, o motorist estava saindo e perguntou se queriamos entrar. Entramos e vimos que já tinha uma mulher dentro. Então ele fechou a porta e disse que estava indo comprar algo para beber.

Depois de alguns minutos, mais passageiros chegaram ao ponto, mas não podiam entrar, já que a porta estava fechada. Finalmente, quando o motorista chegou ele deixou os passageiros que estavam do lado de for a esperando entrar primeiro, enquanto ele segurava quatro copos de chocolate quente.

Então ele colocou um chocolate ao lado do banco do motorist e andou na minha direção com os outros tres chocolates. Deu um para mim e um para o Alex. Foi até a outra menina que tinha ficado no ônibus com a gente e deu um chocolate para ela também.

Eu não conseguia acreditar no que tinha acabado de acontecer. E então o motorista disse: “Eu tranquei vocês aqui e isso parecia a coisa certa a se fazer”. Um gesto tão simples, mas com tanto significado. É realmente muito bonito o que aconteceu. O gesto do Mark foi único. O nome do motorista é Mark. E eu nunca vou esquecer o que ele fez. Pra mim isso significa que ainda há esperança. Que o mundo tenha muitos Marks por aí. Esse é meu desejo.
